This KB explains how to setup Aperio wireless locks and handles with the Identity Access software.
Requirements:

Aperio Programming Application software
Aperio Installation Key
Aperio AH30 (Gen5) Hub
Aperio Wireless handle or cylinder
iNet Door Controller
Identity Access V9

Aperio Encryption Keys
Aperio Hubs are paired to Aperio handles/cylinders, to increase security these devices should be locked using a site-specific encryption key. To obtain new keys, email
support@controlsoft.com alongside the End User Customer Name, End User address, your Company name and your company address.
It is not recommended for 1 key to be used across all your sites. If so both Assa Abloy and Controlsoft will not be able to assist with the retrieval of the key.
Encryption Keys can take 1-2 business days to obtain.
HID Mobile Access
If you intend to use HID Mobile Access with the Aperio BLE Handles 2 x administration cards are required to insert your customer's site-specific HID Mobile Access Keys into the devices. The cards required are HID-SEC9X-CRD-MADD (Mobile Administration Card) and HID-SEC9X-CRD-E-MKYD (Mobile Key Card). For further information on this, please contact

Wiring for Aperio Hubs to iNet Door Controller
For the RS-485 connection on the AH-30 –
RS-485A + on i-Net to AH-30 RS-485 A (connector 8)
RS-485A - on i-Net to AH-30 RS-485 B (connector 7)
AH-30 – power DC 12VDC to connector 1
AH-30 - power DC ground to connector 2
On the hub set the following switches-
1. On (for address 485 1)
2. Off
3. Off
4. Off
5. Off
6. Off (Termination resistors - Set on if RS485 cable length over 100m)
7. Off (Termination resistors - Set on if RS485 cable length over 100m)
8. On (Internal Anthena)
On the iNet set the following dip switches -
•SW4/1: Off
•SW4/2: Off
•SW4/3: Off
•SW4/4: Off

Programming Guide
How to use HID Admin Cards
1. Present the "Mobile Administration Card" (SEC9X-CR-MADD) to the device and power on. Wait until the unit stops flashing.
2. Down power the device, and present the "Mobile Key Card" (SSEX9X-CRD-E-MKYD). Repower and wait for the unit to stop flashing.
3. The HID Mobile Access Keys are now in the device.
Pairing the Aperio Devices to the Hub
1. Plug the Aperio USB Radio Dongle into your laptop and load the Aperio Programming Application
2. Click on "Create new..."
3. Fill in the form with your Site Installation Name, setup a password and browse to the encryption key file (see Planning section on this guide on how to obtain an Aperio Encryption Key)
4. Press Quick Scan while in proximity of the Radio Hub, and a list of local hubs will appear.
5. If you have multiple hubs, the devices serial number is shown on the bottom of the hub.
6. Press the tick box for the selected device and press "Show Details".
7. Right Click on the Communication Hub, and select "Pair with Lock or Sensor"
8. Within 30 seconds show a card or fob to the Handle/Cylinder to pair with this hub.
9. Pair any further handles by repeating Step 7.
10. Right click on the handle, and select "Configure".
11. Click next on the "RFID Configuration".
12. Under "RFID General Settings", chose to either turn on or leave the Smart Credential Cache off.
With the Smart Credential Cache turned on, you can configure the number of credentials the device will store in its "offline" memory and how long they are stored for. This means that if the handle drops offline the last users can still gain access for the set time period.
13. Under "Override Credential", it is possible to setup users as overrides if the system goes down. See the Override Credentials section of this article, for further information on how to set this up. Click Next for now.
14. Under "Security Mode Setting", click "Change" and select "Switch to Customer mode in device".
15. Click next until you see "Device Update". It is possible at this stage to "Save Configuration", if performing the same actions on multiple devices this will quicken the procedure.
16. Press Apply.
17. Once all Handles have been configured, right click on any device in the list, select "Communication Hub" and select "Switch to Customer Mode".
18. You are now ready to add the devices to Identity Access. Before quitting the Aperio Programming Application, make note of each Handles EAC address to make programming easier within Identity Access.
Adding Aperio Devices in Identity Access
1. Once you've used the Aperio Programming Application to pair the hub with the lock installed on the door you can then open the Identity Access software and navigate to the Setup > Controllers.
2. Double click your controller that has the Aperio Hub attached, use the AH30 icon to add a new AH30 onto the controllers RS-485 network.
8. Follow the same procedure for adding more locks without duplicating the addresses.
