Knowledge base 193: Storm keypad sending incorrect numbers with Mifare cards

Scenario -
You have a Controlsoft system setup to read 26-bit Mifare and you are using a Storm keypad with Mifare cards linked to a Controlsoft AC-3151, the CSN (chip serial number) comes through as a much longer number than required.

Cause -
The built-in HID module inside the Storm readers is set as standard to output the Mifare CSN number in 32-bits, the AC-3151 cannot be set to read 32-bit numbers in a 26-bit layout due to a firmware limitation.

You can either wire the reader directly to the iNet door controller as the iNet can read a 32-bit format with the latest V9 firmware, or you can order a config card to flash the Strom keypad to output Mifare CSN in 26-bit.
