Knowledge base 215: Visitor Event Mode (Enable Visitors when Host arrives)

This knowledge base article will show you how to enable a group via a certain user. The example will be to enable a Group of people once one user presents their card/PIN, and to disable the Group when another user presents their card/PIN. The use case for this is to enable visitor access once the host arrives for an event, and to remove visitor access when the host leaves from the event.
Requirements: Identity Access Version 9
iNet Door Controller
PIN Pad in 26 bit emulation mode (If using PIN access for this method) 

Group Setup

1. Within Identity Access go to Management > Groups.
2. Click the  to add a new Group. 
3. Give the Group a name, in this case we will call it the "Host", as this is the group that enables the visitors access.
4. Click on Card Readers, and give access to the reader which will be used by the host and visitors.

5. Click Accept to add the new group to the system.
6. Create another Group for Visitors. On the Group Settings front page, ensure "Active" is unchecked.

7. Give the visitors group access to the reader which will be activated once their host arrives.


User Setup

1. Go to Management > Visitors.
2. Click the  to add a new User.
3. Give the user a name, under Primary Card Number type the PIN/Card number that you wish to be enabled when the host arrives. Give the user access to the Visitors Group.

4. Click Accept
5. Go to Management > Employees.
6. Click the  to add a new User.
7. Give the user a name, under Primary Card Number type the PIN/Card number that you wish to enable the Visitors access. Give the user access to the Host Group.

8. Click on "Events" and select "Access Allowed at a Specific Reader". Click the Add button.

9. Select the Reader that the users need to access to enable the visitors access and press Accept.

10. Within the Action Wizard click the 
11. Select "Group" and click Next.

12. Select the Visitors group and select Next

13. Select Enabled and Click Finish. Press Accept on the Employee Settings screen.
14. If you wish to have a second user to disable the Visitor access, click the  to add a new User.
7. Give the user a name, under Primary Card Number type the PIN/Card number that you wish to enable the Visitors access. Give the user access to the Host Group.

8. Click on "Events" and select "Access Allowed at a Specific Reader". Click the Add button.

9. Select the Reader that the users need to access to enable the visitors access and press Accept.

10. Within the Action Wizard click the 
11. Select "Group" and click Next.

12. Select the Visitors group and select Next

13. Select Disable and Click Finish. Press Accept on the Employee Settings screen.


When the Visitors are disabled and the card/PIN is used the system should report back "The Group is Not Active".
