Knowledge Base 229: Changing IP Addresses of IDEMIA devices via MBTB

This knowledge base article explains the process for changing the IP Address for the IDEMIA range of Sigma, VisionPass or MorphoWave. The method for both On-Demand and Enforced Security is the same.

Installing MBTB

MBTB is downloadable from within our engineering area at www.controlsoft.com/login 

Setting a Static IP Address on your PC.

The IDEMIA range of readers come out on a default IP address of 192.168.1.10, therefore your PC needs to be in this range to contact the reader. If you have more than 1 reader please make sure only one reader is plugged into the network during this process. 

1. On the PC, in the Windows search bar type "Control Panel". Select the Control Panel app.

2. In the top right hand corner, ensure "View by" has "Large Icons" checked. Select "Network and Sharing Centre".

3. Select "Change adapter settings" on the left hand pane

4. Right click on "Ethernet" and select "Properties"

5. Scroll down and select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)", then select "Properties".

6. Select "Use the Following IP Address". For the "IP address" type in "192.168.1.100". For the "Subnet mask" type in "255.255.255.0". The Default Gateway, Preferred DNS and Alternate DNS settings can remain blank.

Changing the IDEMIA Devices IP Address

1. Load MBTB from Start > All Apps > Morpho

2. In the address field type 192.168.1.10 and click Connection

3. On the main display select Communication Configuration

4. Change the IP Address Settings to your required address and click Write
