Knowledge Base 235: HID EntryProx and Identity Access 9

To use the EntryProx with Identity Access the reader must be put into Wiegand Mode. This document explains how to configure and connect the reader to work with Identity Access 9

Wiring

As shown below, connect the following wires from the EntryProx to the Wiegand reader port on the INet:

P1 Black to GND
P1 Red to 12vDC

P3 Brown to G LED
P3 White to Data 1
P3 Green to Data 0


Warning
Please be aware that programming changes will not work until the default master code is changed. 

 Changing the Default Master Code


Please follow the steps below:

Step 1. Press 99 # (Master Code) * to enter programming mode (Default code is 1234)
Step 2. 50 # 1 # 0000 # new master code * new master code *
Step 3. Press * to exit programming mode 

Wiegand Mode

Notes
The EntryProx must be changed from Standalone mode to Wiegand Mode. To do this, please follow the steps below.

Step 1. Press 99 # (Master Code) * to enter programming mode
Step 2.  Press 30 # 3 # 1 # * * 
Step 3. Press 30 # 10 # 1 # * * 
Step 4. Press 30 # 12 # 0 # * * 
Step 5. Press * to exit programming mode 

Setting Facility Code

If you wish to set a facility code in the reader, please follow the steps below:

Step 1. Place the unit in programming mode. Press 99 # Master Code *
Step 2. Press 32 # 2 # Facility Code Value 0-255 # **
Step 3. Press * to exit programming mode

Returning to Factory Settings

Step 1 Place the EntryProx unit in program mode. Press: 99 # Master Code *
Step 2. Press: 46 # 00000 # 00000 # **
Step 3. The Amber light will flash rapidly while the reader is resetting.
Step 4. Once the Amber light has returned to a steady flash. Press * to exit program mode.
