Knowledge base 116: SQL Error when running IA Database Wizard.

Occasionally when installing Identity Access the error (shown below) is displayed while creating the databases using the Database Wizard.



The following checks and steps can be taken to resolve this error -

1.    
Ensure the Server Name in the Database Wizard is set to .\IDENTITYACCCESS this indicates that it’s running on the local machine.

2.    
If the above is not the issue, access the windows services by the following process –

Start Menu > Search ‘Services’ click the following icon -


Next check for a service named SQL Server (IDENTITYACCESS) if this is stopped please highlight the service and click ‘Start’ icon in the top left corner then proceed with the Database Wizard by clicking Next.

3. If the service is not there then the SQL has failed to install correctly. Please reboot your machine and re-run the Identity Access installer.


If the reboot and re-install still hasn’t resolved the issue, please follow these steps -
- Ensure you are not running the installation from a zip file, the zip from the website should be extracted to the C:
- The antivirus must be disabled during the installation, if it hasn’t been, the installation file may have been corrupted, please disable the antivirus and re-download the install and try again.
- If the Antivirus is not the issue run the SQL installation manually by browsing to the following folder

C:\IA_Server\*IA version*\fscommand\IA_install\SQLEXPR_x64_ENU

Run the SETUP.EXE and start a new installation of SQL -
