Knowledge base 137: How to use HID SE Reader Configuration cards

This bulletin explains how to use HID SE Reader configuration cards to change the way an HID SE reader operates or the card format the reader outputs.

Please follow the steps below once you have received your config card order, if you require an HID SE reader config card, please email sales@controlsoft.com

1. First power down the HID SE reader completely by either unplugging the Weigand port from the controller or disconnecting the reader's power source.
   
   
2. The configuration card now needs to be held in front of the HID SE reader, or taped with a note stating "Do not remove this card".
   
   
3. Reapply power to the HID SE reader and wait for a series of beeps, the LED will also usually flash between red, blue and purple while the configuration is being applied.
   
   
4. When the HID SE reader ceases to beep and flash, remove the configuration card away from the reader.
   
   
5. The HID SE reader has now been successfully reconfigured and is ready for testing.
   

Below is an example of what an HID SE configuration card looks like, this can vary but any cards purchased via Controlsoft should look similar to the card below -
