Knowledge base 138: Identity Access 9 - Sigma series with a Wiegand In reader

The following KB describes the 3 ways of configuring a Sigma series biometric reader with a Wiegand in reader for either
1) Wiegand IN card only 2) Card OR bio 3) Card AND bio (dual authentication).
If using the reader in Card Only mode it's recommended to have an access Control Backbone.
Wiring Guide -
Option 1. A Sigma Series reader with Wiegand In - Card Only.
3. If you require the Biometric reader to work in ACU Mode, please configure the doors, readers and groups in Identity Access by following
this video setup guide
4. Next setup your Morpho Device Profile within the IA Configuration, application accessed from the Start Menu > All Programs > Controlsoft > IA Configuration.
5. Log in & Add a new Biometric Device Profile by following the screenshot below -
6. Change the "Log retrieval interval (Seconds)" to a minimum of 60 or if using an i-Net ACU disable this setting altogether by unchecking "Realtime logging enabled" as the i-Net handles the logs.
7. Choose the required Wiegand format that matches your cards. If your Wiegand format is not listed, please email support@controlsoft.com
8. Choose Multi-factor mode "Custom" and tick "Wiegand In"
9. Select “ i-Net ACU Mode ” when connected to an i-Net Door Controller, or “ Standalone ” when the reader is being used as a Single Door Controller.
10. If the reader will be used for Time and Attendance reporting then please enable this at the screen below, if not leave this unticked.
11. Click "Finish"
12. Add the Morpho Device into the IA User Interface by choosing
Setup > Morpho Readers, select the Wiegand IN Biometric Device Profile you created earlier. Click accept.
13. From the IA User Interface add a new Group.
Management > Groups > Click the green plus icon.
14. Give the group a name and then select the "Morpho Readers" tab in the Group Properties and tick the reader you created earlier.
15. Now enrol an Employee to the system
Management > Employees. Their Primary token number will be their Card number (Biometric Identifier) but no biometrics will be needed.
Option 2. Sigma series with Wiegand in OR Biometric under 1 user.
1. Follow steps 1 to 15 above, but when it comes to enrolling the Employee in step 15, you enrol the fingerprints along with the Primary Token number by clicking on the "
Fingerprints" tab.

Option 3. Sigma series with Wiegand in AND Biometrics (Dual Authentication).
1. Follow steps 1 to 15 at the top of this bulletin but at step 8 you will need to tick "Dual Authentication" instead as shown below -
2. Now enrol an Employee, the Token Number should be the employee's card number and enrol their fingerprints under the same employee for dual authentication.
