Knowledge base 136: Changing a Downstream (RS-485) iNet into a Master iNet.

This document explains how to change an iNet door controller from being on the RS-485 bus into a Master controller. In the following screenshots, the downstream iNet with bus address #1 on the “Ground Floor” Master will be changed to a Master called “New Controller”

1)    Disconnect the Downstream iNet from the RS-485 network.

2)    Reset the IP Address of the controller by one of the following methods: V1 / 2 or 3 iNet's: Hold down the reset button for 30 seconds. 1DR/2DR (V4) hold down the reset button for approximately 7 seconds until the "Reset" LED illuminates, then release.

3)   Use iNet Configurator to set its IP Address. More information on how to do this can be found on the following video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANCKpQlRkKQ

4)    Reboot the iNet and connect it to the IP network.

5)    Add the New Controller in Identity Access and configure it as normal.

6)    Select “Doors” in the ribbon bar

7)    Double click the first door to be moved (d10 in this example):

8)    Change the “On master controller network” field to “New Controller” and ensure that the “Controller which manages this door” field changes to “Master Controller”:

9)    Select [Accept]

The Doors overview screen now shows d10 as moved to “New Controller” #0

10)    Repeat for the second door (d11 in this example):

11) Press [Accept]:

Doors d10 and d11 have both been moved from “Ground Floor” #1 to “New Controller” #0
