Tech Bulletin 100: Setting up Identity Access 8 to Issue Mobile Credentials.

Based on IA version 8.233.

This bulletin will explain how to configure Identity Access to start issuing Mobile Credentials.

*Note- Before continuing with this bulletin you must already have a portal setup by Controlsoft and you must have explained to your Android/iOS users how to download the ‘HID Mobile App’ from the Play store (Android) or App store (iOS). Not currently available for Windows Phones.



Configure the IA Server to enable the Mobile Portal


1.       First, if it’s running, close the Identity Access User Interface.


2.       Now Go to Start > All Programs > Controlsoft > Identity Access > Server and click on IA Server Configuration.




3.       Click on Logon in the bottom left hand corner and input your Admin credentials. If this has not been changed the Credentials will be “Admin” and “Password”.


4.       Select HID Mobile Access.


5.       Input the portal information provided by Controlsoft into the appropriate fields.


6.       Click the [Test] button to ensure this has been successful.



Issuing your first Mobile Credential


7.       Log into Identity Access and select the ‘System Status’ tab from the centre of the screen.


8.       You should see the Portal Status displays as “Available” (see below)



9.       From the top menu, click Management > Employees


10.   Click the Green plus symbol.


11.   Type the ‘First Name’ & Last Name’.


12.   Now select the [Mobile Access] Button.


 

13.   Type the email address of the Employee and click the [Find Me] button.


14.   Choose which Mobile ID you wish to issue (if more than one) and click [Create Profile].


15.   Now select the green [Refresh] button



16.   Click the [Create Invitation] Button and either read out the Invitation code to the employee/visitor or click Close then click [Copy Invitation Code] button and paste this into an email.



17.   Once the User has accepted the invitation through the HID Mobile App by typing in the invitation code, click the Mobile Devices Tab


18.   Click the [Refresh] Button and then click the [Issue Mobile ID] button, once you click accept this is automatically downloaded to the controller and the Employee Token is updated.
