Installation

Idea
IDEMIA readers require both a LAN connection and a Wiegand connection. The LAN connection sends the biometric data to the readers and the wiegand connection sends the users number to the Grosvenor Access Control system to confirm if access is allowed or denied. Wiring the LED control between the Grosvenor Advance Controller and the IDEMIA reader are highly recommended to improve the end users' experience.

MorphoManager Installation

Alert
If you are using or plan to use more than 10 Terminals or 1000 users, it is recommended to install Microsoft SQL Server manually prior to the installation of MorphoManager.
Here is our guide on how to manually install SQL for use with MorphoManager. https://controlsoft1.zohodesk.com/portal/en/kb/articles/manually-installing-sql-server-express

1. Go to www.morphomanager.com click on the latest General Usage - Setup Files link. Fill in the registration form and you will be emailed a link to download the software.

2. Once the files have been downloaded, navigate to the PC's download folder to locate the installation media. Right click the files and select Extract All

3. Double click on the Server Setup file to start the installation of MorphoManager Server.
4. Run through the installation wizard. On the Database Management System page, select Embedded Installation of SQL Express if you have less than 10 devices or 1000 users. If you have used our guide to install SQL, or have installed your own instance of SQL choose External Installation.

External Installation Settings:

Server = .\instancename (if you have followed our guide above this will be .\MorphoManager)
Username = sa
Password = The password you choose through the SQL Server installation (if you have followed the guide this will be C0ntr0lS0ftAdm1n@!)
Leave Create New Database ticked

5. Once the MorphoManager Server has installed, restart the PC.
6. Locate the installation media and run the MorphoManager Client Setup file. Follow the installation wizard.
7. Once the installation is complete, load the MorphoManager Client from Start > All Apps > MorphoManager.
8. Copy the License ID number and file in the IDEMIA Subscription Form attached to the bottom of this email. Send the subscription form to support@controlsoft.com quoting the purchase order number with which the subscription was ordered.
9. Once the order has been processed with IDEMIA, you will receive an email with your license file. You can activate your license and continue.

Info
To stop delays, it is possible to install MorphoManager with the free up to 5 devices license. You are able to activate this by following the Activation Key Generator wizard from within MorphoManager.
Please Note: this is only to be used while you are setting up the system for the first time. Without a subscription, we are unable to provide MorphoManager support. If MorphoManager support is purchased using the online purchasing option via IDEMIA, Controlsoft is unable to provide any support on MorphoManager and the cost will be considerably higher.

10. Once the license has been applied, login to MorphoManager using Username = administrator / Password = password

11. On the Express Configuration Wizard, click Cancel and select Yes.

12. On the Security Communication Policy details page change the Policy to On-Demand Security and select Save and Yes to the Save Secure Policy confirmation message.
Idea
We recommend the use of On-Demand Security on initial setup due to Enforced Security locking the reader to this instance of MorphoManager using encryption keys. We understand that often things change during installation and this makes it easier to, for example, move the MorphoManager Server to its permanent home. Enforced Security can be enabled after following this guide for increased security.

13. Press Finish to complete the installation process and start configuring MorphoManager.

Assigning IP Addresses to IDEMIA readers

For Idemia Sigma Lite / Sigma Lite + readers you must use MBTB to change the IP address. Click here, for more information on how to change IP addresses using MBTB.

For IDEMIA MorphoWave / Sigma Wide / Sigma Extreme or VisionPass models, you can either change the IP address on initial power up using the First Boot Assistant or by using MBTB.

MorphoManager Configuration

Notes
In this document, we will explain how to set up the readers to read either a biometric or a HID iClass / SEOS credential. If your use case is anything different for example dual authentication then please contact our support team at support@controlsoft.com , who can assist and update this document accordingly.

Wiegand Profile

The first requirement is to set up the Wiegand profile. This tells the device how to send the information to the access control unit and how to interpret a card.

1. Click on Administration and select Wiegand Profiles.
2a.  If you are using a HID Corporate 1000 Format 35-Bit format i.e. format code H5XXXXX, click on Import and select the Corporate 1000 - 35 PACs.wpxml attached to this Knowledge Base and double click to edit the profile.
2b. If you are using a HID Corporate 1000 Format 48-Bit format i.e. format code H2XXXXX, double click HID Corporate 1000 - HID PACS
2c. If you are an open HID 26 Bit Format i.e. format code H10301, double click on Standard 26 bit - HID PACS
Idea
If you are using any other card format please contact support@controlsoft.com with your card format information and we will assist in creating the Wiegand Profile with you.

3. Click on Company ID, and press Edit.

4. In the Value field, type in the Company ID that you wish to be used for the Biometrics. This can either be the same as the HID cards, or different if you want the Biometrics to come through as a different record into the access control system.

5. Click Next and Finish

Biometric Device Profile

Next we create the Biometric Device Profile. This houses the configuration settings for the biometric readers and tells the readers what mode it should be used in.

1. Go to Administration and select Biometric Device Profile
2. Click Add.
3. Name the Profile and click Next

4. On Wiegand Profile, select the Wiegand profile setup earlier in this Knowledge Base. Click Next until you see the Multi-Factor Mode Settings.

5. For Multi-Factor Mode Settings, select Custom and tick Biometric, HID iClass and HID SEOS. Click Next

6. For Access Control Mode Settings, select Access Control Mode - Integrated By Wiegand / Panel Feedback and Panel Feedback Mode - LED Feedback (2 Wire).

7. Click Next until you are on the MA Sigma, MA Sigma Lite, MA Sigma Lite +, MA Sigma Extreme, MA VP MD, VisionPass, MorphoWave Custom Parameters
8. On the MA Sigma, MA Sigma Lite, MA Sigma Lite +, MA Sigma Extreme, MA VP MD, VisionPass, MorphoWave Custom Parameters page, Add the following Custom Parameters:
Name
Value
ucc.per_user_rules
0
ucc.user_record_reference
0
wiegand.site_code_propagation
1

9. Click Finish to save the Biometric Device Profile.

Add the Biometric Device

1. Go to Administration and select Biometric Device.
2. Click Add.
3. Add a name, Hardware Family, IP Address and select your Biometric Device Profile.

4. The reader should come online in the Biometric Device window, the reader will restart after sending the configuration settings.

Add / Edit the User Configuration

Now that the biometric readers are set up we must tell the system how the users are to be enrolled on the system. For this:
1. Go to Administration and select User Configuration.
2. Either Edit the Default configuration or Add a new configuration.
3. Change the Wiegand Profile to the same as was selected on the Biometric Device except without the PACs on the end. i.e. if Corporate 1000 - 35 PACS was selected, use HID Corporate 1000 - 35
Warning
We recommend leaving the Access Mode on All Biometric Devices and Clients otherwise, to give access to a door, the operator would need to edit the user profiles in both the main access control system and within MorphoManager.

5. Click Next, if using the Sigma Range of readers, click Preferred Duress Finger and select None. If you are not using Contact Fingerprints select Finger Biometric Enrollment Minimum Fingers to 0
Notes
It is recommended to leave Finger Biometric Enrollment Minimum Finger as 2, so a user is required to enroll 2 fingers. However, this can be changed if it is required. A maximum of 2 fingerprints will be sent to the device under a single user.

6. Click Next, if using MorphoWave readers select Wave Enrollent Minimum Hands as 2.

7. Click Next, if using the Visionpass range of readers, tick Require face biometric enrollment.

8. Click Finish

Enrollment Devices

Info
This stage is only required if you are not using a USB MSO enrolment reader and are instead using the biometric terminal for enrolment.

1. Go to Administration and select Clients.
2. Double click on your MorphoManager Client and click Next until the Enrollment Devices page.
3. Click the dropdown to select the required biometric type for your system, i.e. Contact Enrollment for the Sigma range of readers, Contactless Enrollment for MorphoWave range, Face Enrollment for the VisionPass range
4. Click on the drop down option and select Selected MorphoAccess / Selected MorphoWave XP or SP (IP) / Selected VisionPass or VisionPass SP (IP)
5. Click Search, select the reader you wish to use as the enrollment device, click Next and Finish.

Enrolling Users

The final thing is to enroll users onto the system, to achieve this:
1. Go to User Management.
2. Click on the Add button.

3. Select the User Configuration if you have more than one. Fill in the required First Name and Surname and select Next.

4.  Optional: Enter any additional data you wish to hold in the database and click next.
5. Enter the card number for the user or press randomize if the user does not have a card number in the access control system due to only using the biometrics.

6. Click on the flashing finger / hand or face and enroll. A guide on finger positioning can be found attached to this knowledge base.
7. Press Finish to complete the process.
