Knowledge base 211: Lockdowns in Identity Access 9

Within Identity Access V9 it is possible to configure 2 different lockdown levels. Lockdown Level 1 is designed to shut down any access into a building/area of the building, however all request to exit buttons still operate as normal, this means that users can still exit the building but they cannot enter back into the building. Level 1 has the ability that certain groups are able to still move around the building, this is designed so security guards are able to deescalate a threat or help with the evacuation of the building. Lockdown Level 2 is designed to shut a building/area of a building down altogether, stopping any readers and request to exit buttons from working. In lockdown Level 2 the Lockdown Override groups also cannot gain entry. Lockdowns can be initiated by either an input (i.e. a panic button) or by the Identity Access User Interface. Lockdowns can only be reset via the Identity Access User Interface.
For lockdown to function, the controllers must be online on the network.
It is essential to plan the route back to the PC, so the system can be reset to normal operation when using Lockdown Level 2, or Lockdown Level 1 without any override Groups.
Requirements -
Identity Access Professional or Enterprise
i-Net door controller
Doors, readers and users configured and working.
Optional - Panic button or other suitable input for initiating a lockdown (1 per Lockdown Level)
Plan the route back to the PC when site is fully evacuated.

Configuring a Lockdown Input

1. Load Identity Access User Interface and go to "Setup" > "Controllers". Double click on the controller that has the lockdown input wired in.
2. Go to "Settings" and click "Lockdown".
3. Tick the "Active" box.
4. If you have wired the Lockdown input into the Master controller leave the "Controller" as "Master Controller". If you have wired the lockdown input into any of the downstream RS-485 controllers then use the drop down box and select the controller address you used.
5. Select the "Input" number you used on the controller.
6. Select the "Input State" as either Normally Closed (N/C) or Normally Open (N/O).
7. If you also wish to setup a Lockdown Level 2, you can select "Level 2" from the sub menu tab and configure in the same manner to a different input.
8. Press Accept to save and download the changes.
In the below example we have configured Input 4 on the Master controller using a Normally Closed input.

Configuring Lockdown Override Groups

1. Within Identity Access, go to "Management" > "Groups".
2. Double Click the Group you wish to be overridden at Lockdown Level 1.
3. Tick the "Override Lockdown" option.
4. Press Accept to Save and Download the changes.

Configuring Lockdown Override Doors

1. Within Identity Access, go to "Setup" > "Doors", double click the door you wish to be overridden in a lock down state (operates normally).
2. Select either "Override all Lockdown Levels", if the override is required on both levels of lockdown, or "Override Lockdown Level 2" if the door only needs to be overridden in a Level 2 lockdown.
3. Click Accept to save and download the changes.
4. Repeat for any other doors that require to override lockdown i.e. routes to the PC once the building has been evacuated.

Testing the Lockdown Function

1. Go to the Dashboard by clicking "Home" > "Dashboard". Select the "Doors" sub tab.
2. Either select the lockdown state from the Lockdown Status or press the previously configured input and make sure the software shows the correct lockdown status.

3. Test and make sure the relevant doors and groups overrides where required.

4. To reset, click the Green button located above Level 0 and make sure normal operations resumes.
