Knowledge base 187: Opening multiple doors via 1 common fire input.
If you have only 1 master controller linked to a fire panel but you wish to open doors that are on other master controllers when the fire alarm is activated, it is possible to use actions and events in Identity Access 9 to trigger a fire status on all networked master controllers.
Requirements:
Identity Access Professional (IA-PRO) or Enterprise (IA-ENT)
Ensure all controllers are on the same IP subnet.
UDP Port 42424 needs to be open between iNet controllers.
1. Add all your Master iNet controllers and doors into Identity Access as per the screenshot below (video available
here for more in-depth guidance).
Remember to create your doors using the door wizard, any doors created in the wizard will automatically be set to unlock when Fire is detected, please edit any doors you do not wish to automatically unlock as per the screenshot below.
2. Next edit the Master controller from the Setup > Controllers menu that will be linked to the fire panel and add the fire input as per the screenshot below.
3. Next select 'Advanced' from the top menu and choose [Object Groups]. Click the green plus symbol to add a group, choose [Controllers] and then click [Accept].
4. Select all the controllers that you wish trigger into fire when the fire alarm is triggered but leave the master unticked that is configured for the fire input.
5. Now from the [
Advanced] menu select [
Events].
6. Click [Add] and then [Next].
7. Select [Controller] and click [Next].
8. Select the controller which is linked to the fire panel and click [
Next].9. Select [
Fire sensor on] and click [
Next].
10. Select [
Object Group] and click [
Next].
11. Selected the Object group from earlier and click [
Next].
12. Select [
Set Fire State] and click [
Finish].
13. Click [
Accept]
14. Now we need to create another event for when the fire alarm is deactivated. You may choose to have a key switch input that needs to be activated before the doors will relock (email
support@controlsoft.com) but in this instance, we will set up if the fire panel is deactivated this will relock the doors.
15. From the events menu click [
Add]
16. Select the controller that has the fire input connected and click [
Next]
17. Select '
Fire sensor off' and click [
Next].
18. Select '
Object group' and click [
Next].
19. Select the object group and click [
Next]
20. Select 'Clear Fire State' and click [Finish].
21. Click [Accept]
22. Please now test the fire alarm to check all the doors unlock as required.
